HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR BOUDOIR SESSION
You've booked a boudoir session, purchased your lingerie, and now your shoot is coming up. You may be feeling a variety of emotions and nerves leading up to your session. Please know, this is completely normal, and you are not alone. I have created this blog post to help navigate you through the days leading up to your boudoir session. Preparing for your shoot is the next important step in your boudoir experience: visualize the clothing, heels, accessories, and props you will want to wear for your shoot. Pick out lingerie that highlights your every curve, but please remember sometimes a tight t-shirt, soft sweater or over-sized button down can be even sexier. Let your own personality shine through, and bring something meaningful to you or to your partner, this is a great way to personalize your session.
five days before your shoot
If you wax, do so a few days beforehand to avoid any bumpiness or redness. Make sure your eyebrows are nicely shaped and groomed. Be sure to get a salon manicure and pedicure for a flawless finish (natural colors are ideal). Stay out of the sun- while a base tan will be nice in photos. Blotchy skin will not. Drink plenty of water for luminous skin. Lower your salt intake and avoid alcohol if you are worried about retaining water. This is the time you want to try on your outfits and lingerie to make sure they fit properly. Remove all tags and labels will scissors, steam or iron your ensembles and hang them properly so they keep their shape for travel.

the day before your shoot
Bathe, shave, and moisturize. Be sure to remove all price tags, size and care labels, etc. from clothing, especially from lingerie and panties. They can ruin otherwise great photographs. Double check everything is properly packed and ready for your shoot: heels, jewelry, accessories, props, etc. Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the location without stressing. Check the weather and traffic reports to ensure you have allotted enough time for unexpected delays. The night before your session enjoy a relaxed and quiet evening. You want to plan for a good night's sleep, eight hours is ideal.
the day of your shoot
Today is the day, and it's time to get pampered. Here are some key tips to be sure your shoot is a success. You want to be sure to use clear deordorant as the other ones tend to show in images when arms are lifted. Be sure to wear loose-fitting clothing to your session to avoid marks on your skin. For example, tight jeans and tight socks tend to leave markings on your skin which will sometimes show in images. Be sure to eat something light but filling before your session. Most importantly, take a deep breath and relax, it's completely normal to be nervous before your session but please do not worry because you will be in good hands.
