Archival Holiday Portraits in the Mill Sanctuary & At Home
The Winter Verse
The Vision
Holiday portraits should not expire when the season ends. We turn away from stiff studio posing, synthetic props, and rushed queues in favor of quiet, poetic art. The Winter Verse documents your family's season through two distinct pathways: a sculptural, candlelit installation inside our historic New England mill loft, or an intimate documentary session within your own home.

The Wardrobe Guide: Dressing the Archive
We build each portrait around tonal harmony, tactile depth, and quiet elegance, ensuring your family’s emotion and connection remain the focal point.
01 // The Alabaster Verse
Studio

Luminous, sculptural, tone-on-tone fine art.
The Palette: Cream, winter ivory, soft oatmeal, pale camel, champagne, and muted pebble gray. Monochromatic layering keeps this set airy and modern.
Textures to Wear: Heavy cable-knit sweaters, ribbed wool, brushed cashmere, washed raw linen, and soft organic cotton.
Footwear & Styling: Barefoot is encouraged on the Rococo settee and floor textiles; otherwise, soft neutral leather flats or light suede boots.
Avoid: Heavy black tops or dark saturated colors that create harsh visual blocks against the light linen drapes.

02 // The Espresso Verse
studio
Rich, moody, candlelit Old World depth.
The Palette: Warm camel, toffee, cinnamon, deep espresso, charcoal, rich taupe, and muted forest spruce. Cream or oat knits also pop strikingly against the dark velvet backdrop.
Textures to Wear: Chunky knit cardigans, fine-wale corduroy, heavy wool trousers, brushed flannel, and subtle velvet accents.
Footwear & Styling: Deep brown leather boots, classic oxfords, or barefoot curled into the cream settee.
Avoid: Stark optical whites (stick to warm cream) and pastel colors that look washed out against theatrical dark drapery.
03 // The In-Home Heirloom Story
At Home

Honest, relaxed, unscripted family documentary.
The Palette: Earthy, living-room neutrals—washed denim, muted olive, warm oatmeal, soft terra cotta, charcoal, and dusty pine. Dress to complement your home’s existing interior tones.
Textures to Wear: Cozy waffle knits, relaxed vintage denim, soft chambray, oversized cardigans, worn flannels, and linen kitchen aprons (if baking).
Footwear & Styling: Barefoot, ribbed wool cabin socks, or soft leather house slippers. Let kids wear comfortable clothing they can move, jump, and bake in.
Avoid: Matching catalog pajama sets or overly formal stiff clothing that prevents children from playing naturally.

Universal Guidelines for All Sessions
Keep It Organic: Coordinate family tones rather than matching identically. Aim for 3–4 complementary neutral shades across the entire family.
What to Leave Behind: Commercial holiday red, neon shades, bold geometric prints, athletic sneakers, shiny synthetic polyester, and prominent brand logos.

FAQ
Can I photograph on both studio setups during one session?
Because lighting, prop placement, and camera calibration are tailored specifically to each installation, each 20-minute mini session is dedicated to one single color palette (Alabaster or Espresso). If you wish to capture both, two consecutive slots must be reserved.
How many people can attend a studio session?
Due to the scale of our vintage Rococo settee and intimate studio footprint, studio mini sessions comfortably fit immediate families (up to 6 people), couples, maternity milestones, or solo portraits. For multi-generational or extended families, the In-Home Heirloom Session is required.
Will my gallery arrive in time for holiday cards?
Yes. Studio mini session galleries are delivered within 7 days of your shoot, with digital print-release permissions for holiday stationery and gifts.
Can I purchase more than the 10 included images?
Yes. You will receive a private proofing gallery where you can download your 10 chosen portraits or purchase additional single files and full gallery upgrades directly.
